Q. What is the weight of Redbacks® strapped knee pads?
A. Each knee pad weighs only 410gm.
Q. My foam knee pads absorb water, get heavy and uncomfortable. Are Redbacks® strapped knee pads waterproof?
A. Yes, the strapped knee pad has a resistant cover.
Q. Is Redbacks® technology scientifically proven?
A. Yes, Redbacks have undergone extensive testing led by Professor N. Chockalingam at Staffordshire University. Professor N. Chockalingam’s tests on Redbacks knee pads were shown to outperform foam knee pads in the distribution of weight and reduced point pressure offering the greatest protection and comfort to users knees.
Q. I’m not sure if I’ve fitted my Redbacks® strapped knee pads correctly. Can you reassure me?
A. Redbacks Strapped kneepads can be worn over trousers or on bare skin. Place on knee with Redbacks logo on the top and the spider logo on the outside of the leg. Pull the straps around the back of the leg and adjust to a comfortable fit. Secure any excess legnth of strap by folding back onto itself to shorten and fasten onto exposed velcro. When kneeling re-adjust position of knees to the centre of the pad and adjust straps if neccesary. Warning: Overtighting of the straps may impair circulation.
Q. I weigh almost 19st (120kg). and my weight crushes all knee pads. Can I use Redbacks® strapped knee pads without flattening them?
A. Laboratory tests undertaken by Coventry University have shown that each Redbacks® strapped knee pad can support 450kg or 70st of weight. There is no risk of you flattening them or becoming uncomfortable.
Q. Can Redbacks® strapped knee pads be washed and tumbled dried?
A. It is recommended that the strapped knee pads are washed at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
Q. I work fitting kitchens and spend a lot of my time kneeling on corner edges, which is very painful. Is Redbacks® the solution to this problem?
A. Redbacks® are ideal. Feedback from users reports that Redbacks® are superb at cushioning the knees from the pain of hard or sharp edges and rough ground and are particularly comfortable for leaning on the rungs of ladders.
Q. I’ve just paid £49.50 for a pair of ‘Medical’ knee pads but my knees and back still hurt. What evidence is there to prove Redbacks® are better?
A. The Medical knee pads you write about are made from foam. Unfortunately, foam flattens when weight is applied resulting in ‘point pressure’ to the knee – in other words all your weight is concentrated on one point of your knee. This results in tremendous knee pain, which can transfer into the back, neck and legs. Redbacks® are made from a rubbersised thermoplastic elastomer not foam. The combination of the leaf-spring and matrix structure suspends the knee and evenly distributes weight resulting in greater comfort and much longer wear for the user. Laboratory testing has shown that unlike foam Redbacks® return to their original shape 100% of the time.
